Quality First: Managing Workload to Deliver Safer Patient Care

Last month, (May 2015) the LMCs held a successful workshop for practices on the local implementation of the BMA’s recent document, Quality First:  Managing Workload to Deliver Safer Patient Care,

The workshop explored how the document could be tailored to reflect local circumstances thereby helping support GPs and practices to take the necessary, sometimes difficult steps, to better control workload and deliver safer patient care.  A copy of the key actions agreed at the workshop is available below.

Examples of template letters, as part of individual resource packs, were agreed as being of particular relevance to practices.  The first two resource modules:  Managing the inappropriate shift of NHS work into General Practice and Sign Posting Patients – Third Sector Services are available below for your consideration.  Further modules will follow in due course.

I hope that these modules prove to be a useful resource.  In the meantime if you require any further information then please contact the LMC office.
