Buying Group Recruitment Support

The LMC Buying Group understand that recruitment is often an expensive and time-consuming business, so they created an eye-catching, easy to use recruitment page where any registered member can post their clinical and non-clinical vacancies at no cost. They also offer practices the opportunity to feature their vacancies with a featured package which comes at a small fee.

What they offer

As well as posting the job on their website, they also highlight any new job posting at least once across their social media platforms. This is a free service to any member practice interested in expanding their vacancy reach beyond their region.

They have also introduced a ‘Featured Job’ option for those members that want to draw more attention to their advert. The featured role will appear at the top of the Jobs page in a bright colour and be highlighted on their social media channels each week for a month. This service only costs £50+VAT.

To place an advert, visit the Jobs page and upload your vacancy using the application form template here. If you choose the Featured Advert option, they will send you an invoice once the advert has been posted online.

Buying Group Support for PCNs and Federations

The Buying Group have developed an initiative for GP practices working together so they can help each other save money on their purchasing.

They provide a bespoke service by loaning out their procurement consultant Gary, who has over 35 years procurement’ experience and 15 years specific to healthcare. Gary will work with your group e.g. Primary Care Network (PCN) or GP federation to help identify savings that can be made with Buying Group suppliers.

The Process

  1. Gary will carry out a cost analysis for up to three practices you nominate within your group
  1. The findings of this cost analysis will be presented to the three nominated practices and then to the entire group
  1. Gary can answer any questions you have about the suppliers and if you are happy, they can help your group of practices switch to Buying Group approved suppliers.

The Buying Group have been helping individual members save money on the products and services they regularly buy for over 15 years and can now support groups of providers in the same way.

Email the Buying Group at info@lmcbuyinggroups.co.uk to find out more.

FAQs

What is the purpose of the LMC Buying Group and how does it work?

The sole purpose of the Buying Group is to save its member practices money by negotiating discounts on goods and services which practices regularly purchase. The Buying Group team negotiate with suppliers, after which they identify ‘approved’ suppliers, who guarantee to give you significant discounts over what you would otherwise pay for their services, in return for the Buying Group’s endorsement and help in making you aware of what they offer.

Does it cost us anything to be part of the group?

No. All practices paying the LMC statutory/administrative levy are automatically entitled to enrol as members. The Buying Group regard this as an added value service your LMC can offer you. Should any practice cease to pay their LMC levies, they will no longer be able to access the benefits this initiative will bring.

Is there any obligation to take up the deals offered?

No. Each practice is free to take up or decline any of the deals the Buying Group have negotiated. If you wish to take advantage of any of the offers in question, you will be given contact details and all communications take place between you and the individual supplier*.

Who are the Buying Group’s approved suppliers?

A full list of suppliers is available on the Buying Group’s website here.

Your Details

When a practice signs up for Buying Group membership, they will keep your basic contact details (practice address) on a secure database which is used for administration purposes (i.e. to identify which practices are eligible for supplier discounts). On the membership application form, they also ask you how they can use your personal data (i.e. your email address) but even if you do sign up to receive their emails you can stop them at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button.

What if I am not happy with the quality of goods and services supplied?

Always let the Buying Group know if you encounter any problems getting what you want, and they will endeavour to sort it out.

NB: *The Buying Group accepts no liability for any contract willingly entered into by a practice with an approved supplier. Practices are advised to check that the terms of any contract with suppliers are not inconsistent with those the Buying Group have negotiated and are advised to inform the Buying Group team of any discrepancy. The Buying Group do not, however, accept any responsibility for any member practices’ failure to check the terms of the relevant contract and the principle of caveat emptor (buyer beware) applies in all cases. Your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act are unaffected. With respect to any services to which the provisions of the Financial Services Act 2000 might apply practices are advised to seek independent financial advice as may be appropriate.
