Ambient scribing products, when combined with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), are increasingly being used across the country. They can convert speech during a consultation into structured medical notes, referral letters and other related material. This can deliver considerable benefit for both clinicians and patients. However, there are important legal obligations around data sharing and clinical safety that need to be addressed before they are used.
