Membership of the Council of Management

The fifty-fourth Annual General Meeting of the Cameron Fund will be held on 2 May 2024 at BMA House, Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9JP. At the AGM, Dr Sarah Rann, the member of the Council of Management who jointly represents Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, will be retiring as a Trustee. Dr Rann is eligible for re-election and has indicated that she is willing to continue in her role.

To be eligible for nomination, GPs must already be registered members of the Cameron Fund and nominations should comprise a letter or email signed by the nominee indicating his/her willingness to stand for election. The letter/email should arrive at the Registered Office (address above, e-mail address: info@cameronfund.org.uk) no later than Friday 16 February, 2024.

If two or more candidates stand for election, a ballot will be held, and a ballot paper will be sent to all members in the designated area with instructions about the timescale. If there should be a ballot, the result will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.

Membership is open to all registered or formerly registered medical practitioners, who are, or have been, resident in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands and who have performed or provided NHS Primary Medical Services or General Practitioner services to the armed forces in the United Kingdom.

The process is very simple and just involves completing the below membership form. There is no fee for membership, although some members choose to give a regular donation. Also below is a Standing Order form and Gift Aid form.

Cameron Fund Elections

The Cameron Fund is the only medical benevolent fund that solely supports general practitioners and their dependents.

The Member of the Council of Management who jointly represents Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, will be retiring by rotation at the AGM on 4^th May 2023.  Nominations are now invited for this position and should comprise a letter or email signed by the nominee indicating his/her willingness to stand for election. The letter/email should arrive at the Registered Office no later than Friday 17^th February 2023.  If two or more candidates stand for election, a ballot will be held.

In order to stand for nomination, you will be required to be a member of the Cameron Fund. A membership application form is available here.
